We have two primary responsibilities:
1. Adjust (investigate, evaluate, deny, settle or defend) claims filed against state of Florida agencies under four statutorily required insurance coverages: general liability, automobile liability, federal civil rights and employment discrimination and court awarded attorney fee coverage (see Chapter 284, Part II, F.S.).
2. Enter notices of claim and service of process filed against subdivisions of the state of Florida (Counties) into the claims administration system and provide affidavits regarding these notices as requested (see s. 768.28 (6) (a) and (7), F.S.)
