Florida officials provide residents with access to resources following Irma

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Insurance villages and disaster recovery centers will be opening next week in areas heavily impacted by Hurricane Irma, according toChief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis.

CFO Patronis said, “Getting Floridians back on their feet and back to normalcy is our top priority, and these recovery centers will provide access to the tools and resources needed to help our residents navigate the post-storm recovery and claims-filing process. I am amazed by the strength and sense of community that our state has exhibited in the wake of Irma’s destruction. To my fellow Floridians recovering from Irma’s wrath, help is on the way.”

Insurance experts from the Department of Financial Services will be on hand at the centers to answer insurance-related questions and concerns.

Patronis' office says they havearranged for several insurance companies with policies in the impacted areas to be on-site to help Floridians file post-storm claims.
