This week, during a meeting of the Florida Cabinet, I discussed the "Environmental, Social, and Governance" (ESG) standards and their effects on the insurance market. These ESG's are un-American, woke-standards that are an attempt to reengineer society through billion dollar industries. Insurance Markets are even starting to write coverage based solely on ESG criteria, meaning that a lot of these woke businesses will get better insurance products, while non-compliant ones will be ignored. Florida can not let this stand, we have to fight ESG within the insurance market.

Florida Must Fight ESG Fees in the Insurance Market

During the Cabinet meeting this week, I was also proud to present a resolution to further promote fire safety, prevention, and preparedness. The meeting was also a great opportunity for us to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of NASA Kennedy Space Center, a special place in the hearts and minds of many Floridians. Additionally, I was able to honor Florida Supreme Court Justice Alan Lawson, who retires after an impressive 21-year judicial career and 6-years with the Florida Supreme Court.

Lastly, Wednesday marked the 30-year anniversary of Hurricane Andrew. As this storm showed us, hurricanes can intensify and develop fast, and all Floridians have to have a disaster plan in place so that you can weather the storm and recover quickly. As we enter the peak of the 2022 Hurricane Season, let this anniversary serve as a reminder, that now is the time to prepare and ensure your home and business are adequately covered.
