CFO Patronis Celebrates Israel’s 75th Anniversary of Independence
MIAMI, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis attended a celebration with Israeli Consul General Maor Elbaz-Starinsky and presented a proclamation to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Israel’s Independence. At the event, the CFO was joined by the Consulate General of Israel to Miami Maor Elbas-Starinksky and other elected officials and Israeli dignitaries.
CFO
Jimmy Patronis
said, "For more than seven decades, the State of Florida has had a
longstanding relationship with the State of Israel since it formally declared
Independence 75 years ago. This relationship derives from the depths of
devotion both people have for individual liberty, religious expression, free
market capitalism, and the rule of law. Israel is not only a vital economic
partner to Florida and the U.S., but a strong military ally and the only
democracy in the Middle East. Almost two years ago, I saw firsthand the bond
between Israel and Florida following the tragic Surfside Condo Collapse. As
hundreds of first responders from around the country worked day and night to
save lives, the State of Israel sent their own search and rescue teams from
across the world to aid in these lifesaving missions. These heroes worked
side-by-side searching for any signs of life, and through this unbelievable
tragedy, the bond between our nations grew deeper. I have no doubt that the
State of Israel and the State of Florida will be allies for generations to come
and I look forward to supporting that relationship as long as I’m serving this
great state.”
