FORT MYERS, Fla.- Today, Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia visited the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to present Sheriff Carmine Marceno with over $9.8 million for immigration enforcement efforts.

Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, “Enforcing our nation’s immigration laws has led to safer communities. I want to recognize the hard work of our law enforcement partners to remove criminal illegal aliens off our streets and protect our citizens. We will continue to work alongside President Trump and Governor DeSantis to ensure that our law enforcement have the tools and training necessary to remove criminal illegal aliens from our streets.”

Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said, “Thank you, CFO Ingoglia, for your consistent support of Florida law enforcement. The funding awarded today will bolster the capabilities of my deputies to protect and serve the residents of Lee County.”

Funding is provided through the State Board of Immigration Enforcement for local law enforcement agencies that have applied for reimbursement of immigration enforcement efforts. Under the 287(g) agreement of the Immigration and Nationality Act, state and local law enforcement can partner with ICE, and bonuses are provided to law enforcement officers trained under this agreement.
