Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia Announces Over $443 Million in the 2025-2026 Palm Beach County Budget as“Excessive, Wasteful Spending”

BOCA RATON, Fla.- Today, Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia announced over $443 million in the 2025-2026 Palm Beach County budget as “excessive, wasteful spending.” Since 2020, the Palm Beach County budget has increased by 65.26%. Last year, the CFO uncovered that Palm Beach County overspent by over $344 million in the 2024-2025 General Fund Budget.
  
Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, "Local governments have repeatedly taken advantage of the taxpayers by asking for more and more money. In just six years alone, Palm Beach County has wastefully and excessively spent more than $1.2 billion in taxpayer dollars, including $443 million in just Fiscal Year 25-26. Instead of being responsible stewards of the taxpayers, Palm Beach County has given us nothing but excuses. Until elected officials actually step up and take responsibility for this irresponsible spending, the county’s residents will continue to suffer through this unaffordability crisis. This is why much-needed property tax reform will be up for consideration on the ballot in November.”  
  
The Florida Agency of Fiscal Oversight (FAFO) exposed that Palm Beach County has excessively and wastefully spent $1,229,718,280 since 2020.

Between Fiscal Year (FY) 2019-2020 and FY 2025-2026, the General Fund Budget has increased by $975,590,832. The population has grown by 76,308 people, or 5.11%. For every family of four that moved to Palm Beach County, the budget increased
by $51,140.

Without negatively impacting any essential services provided to residents, Palm Beach County can reduce their millage rate by 0.96 mills. If the county chose to apply this reduction, homeowners could save:  
  • A taxable home value of $600,000 would save $577 per year.   
  • A taxable home value of $700,000 would save $673 per year.   
  • A taxable home value of $800,000 would save $769 per year. 
CFO Ingoglia has uncovered $3.7 billion in excessive and wasteful spending. CFO Ingoglia plans to continue to expose excessive, wasteful spending across the state as part of his role as Chief Financial Officer of Florida.
