Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia Marks 1 Year of Financial Accomplishments in Florida
JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia highlighted financial accomplishments in his first year in office. Since taking office last year, CFO Ingoglia has continued to put money back into the pockets of Floridians, exposing wasteful and excessive spending from local governments, passing legislation to protect taxpayers from bloated budgets, and establishing the Florida Stablecoin Pilot Program.
Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, “When I became CFO, I promised to be an outspoken advocate for the taxpayers, and we’ve delivered. In this past year, we have redefined the role of the office, strengthened government accountability, called out wasteful local government spending that has caused property taxes to skyrocket, and delivered results for Floridians. Our work is far from over, and my office will continue to keep our foot on the gas when it comes to advancing Florida’s fiscal future.”
Logan Bragdon, Coalitions Manager with the James Madison Institute, said, “CFO Ingoglia has always been committed to his role as a fiscal watchdog for Floridians. Whether it’s ensuring that local governments remain fiscally responsible or providing meaningful financial relief to residents across the state, he remains steadfast in safeguarding taxpayer dollars.”
Former Mayor of Jacksonville Lenny Curry said, “Fiscal restraint is a choice. I applaud CFO Ingoglia for his accomplishments over his first year in office and for shining a light on out-of-control government spending. Serving as a taxpayer advocate is a role he’s taken seriously, and I thank him for it.”
Through CFO Ingoglia’s initiative, the Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight (FAFO) has exposed $3.7 billion in wasteful and excessive spending of taxpayer dollars. FAFO has audited cities and counties across the state to bring transparency to Floridians and enable them to hold their local officials accountable.
CFO Ingoglia has proposed and passed major legislation during the 2026 legislative session. His legislative priority, HB 1329, increased transparency in the local government budget process by making it easier for taxpayers to access the budget information they need to hold their local elected officials accountable. Another legislative achievement, SB 1568, established the Florida Stablecoin Pilot Program, making Florida the first state in the nation to accept payment stablecoins in compliance with the federal GENIUS Act as payment for government licenses and fees.
The Department of Financial Services Division of Treasury, which oversees Florida’s state investment pool, has reached a record-breaking amount of investments earned in Fiscal Year 2025-2026. In total, nearly $2.6 billion has been earned, which marks the highest amount in state history.
Additionally, the Department of Financial Services Division of Unclaimed Property has returned over $847 million back into the pockets of Floridians and their families. Unclaimed property is when a financial asset becomes abandoned, unknown, lost, or left inactive after a business, bank, or other government entity holds it for 5 years.
