TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, during a meeting of the Florida Elections Canvassing Commission, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis released a statement following certification of voting returns in the 2022 General Election.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “As a member of the Elections Canvassing Commission, I was honored today to certify the official Florida voting returns for the 2022 general election results statewide, including Governor Ron DeSantis, Attorney General Ashley Moody, Commissioner-elect Wilton Simpson, and members of the Florida Legislature. Over the past few years, Governor DeSantis worked with the Florida Legislature to ensure that Florida’s election integrity is second to none and cemented our reputation of counting votes quickly, efficiently, and professionally. Even now, there are states around the country that are still counting votes while Florida exceeded expectations once again by having elections results completed and readily available to the public before we all went to bed on election night. Congratulations to Department of State Secretary Cord Byrd, our dedicated local Supervisors of Elections, and our volunteers and election workers for a smooth and successful election process.
