CFO & State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis: We Must Assess the Needs of Florida Fire Departments in Wake of Hurricane Michael
Tallahassee, Fla.— Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis directed his office to assess the needs of fire departments in the areas impacted by Hurricane Michael.
“My main focus is search and rescue, and recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael; we have a lot of work to do. I have directed my office to assess the needs of Florida’s fire departments in the impacted areas to better assist as they reequip and replenish the equipment necessary to continue their recovery mission on the ground.
“Our first responders immediately ran towards the chaos when Hurricane Michael ripped through the panhandle on Wednesday and they have been working tirelessly for days to protect life and property. We must make sure these heroes have our full support during this stressful time just as they support us before, during and after disasters.”
