TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis sent a letter to President Donald J. Trump on the need for the immediate repeal of an Obama-era regulation that has roadblocked states from reuniting unclaimed savings bonds with their rightful owners or heirs, many of whom are members of our Greatest Generation. Unfortunately, in many circumstances, the actual U.S. Savings Bond certificate has been forgotten, lost, stolen or destroyed, preventing CFO Patronis’ Division of Unclaimed Property from returning money owed to Floridians.
The letter can be found HERE and below.
