This week, I would like to encourage all Floridians to check their smoke alarms as you change your clocks when Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 a.m. It's important to replace the batteries in all smoke alarms regularly and test them to ensure they are working properly. This is also a great time to review your emergency plans with your family to ensure your loved ones are prepared in the event of a house fire or other disasters. Always remember to check with family members and neighbors, especially seniors, as well to ensure their alarms are in good working order.
