MARIA BARTIROMO (FOX BIZ): Let’s talk about what’s going on there with Disney. Disney officially calling off plans for its $20 million Florida development. It would’ve brought more than 2,000 high-paying jobs to the state Jimmy, are you disappointed?
CFO PATRONIS: Any time that a cast member forgets their goofy costume or a storm trooper stubs their toe, they’re going to blame Ron DeSantis or they’re going to go make sure, (because there’s a lawsuit taking place) they’re going to go leak it to the federally owned New York Times. It’s a continuous drip drip drip by Disney. As they’ve gotten themselves in a mess. Disney doesn’t have a Florida problem, it doesn’t have a Ron DeSantis problem, it has a Disney problem.
MARIA BARTIROMO (FOX BIZ): So where is this going, I mean there’s a serious fight between DeSantis and Disney; how does this play out?
CFO PATRONIS: I am 17 years in this process and in the restaurant business for 30 years. I’m about making customers happy and I have repeatedly, not once, not twice, I have pleaded. You know, Bob Iger needs to come to the table and quit this nonsense. But you know what, right now, they’re losing millions of subscribers. They are closing their flagship Star Wars Hotel. They are making decisions financially, just like Google and Amazon laying off people. So it’s just convenient to blame Ron DeSantis because right now he is a high profile target and it makes their stockholders and directors have a scapegoat to blame it on. Bob Iger is doing what he needs to do to survive and unfortunately getting $2000 a night for hotel just doesn’t fly anymore in the United States.
