CFO Patronis Legislative Update for March 16, 2023

House Bill 121 – Florida Kidcare Program Eligibility (Representative Bartleman) – This legislation increases the income eligibility threshold for coverage under the Florida Kidcare program.

• House Bill 121 was reported favorable in the House Healthcare Regulation Subcommittee today.

Senate Bill 236 – Civil Remedies (Senator Hutson) – This legislation includes measures to eliminate one-way attorney fees and fee multipliers for all lines of insurance, modernizing Florida's "bad faith" law, and protecting small businesses from paying exorbitant damages.

• Senate Bill 236 was reported favorable in the Senate Fiscal Policy Committee today.
