CFO Patronis Legislative Update for March 23, 2023
Senate Bill 214 – Sales of Firearms and Ammunition (Senator Burgess) – This legislation will prohibit credit card companies from giving weapons and ammunition sales a specific code to identify their purchases.
- Senate Bill 214 was PASSED through the Florida Senate today.
House Bill 837 – Civil Remedies (Representative Gregory and Fabricio) – This bill initiates standards for bad faith actions, reduces statute of limitations for negligence actions, and introduces requirements for damage recovery.
- House Bill 837 was PASSED through the Florida Senate today. This legislation is now on its way to the Governor.
House Bill 185 – Catalytic Converters (Representative Hawkins) – This bill creates the "Catalytic Converter Antitheft Act"; which addresses tampering with and theft of catalytic converters.
- House Bill 185 was reported favorable in the House Judiciary Committee today.
