CFO Patronis Legislative Update for March 27, 2023
House Bill 541 – Motor Vehicle Glass (Representative Griffitts Jr.) – This bill prohibits policyowners from entering post-loss benefit assignment agreements under motor vehicle insurance policies, eliminates the ability for inducements to be used in exchange for filing an insurance claim, and makes drivers aware of the need for proper windshield calibration.
- House Bill 541 was reported favorable in the House Civil Justice Subcommittee today.
House Bill 881 – My Safe Florida Home Program (Representative LaMarca) – This legislation will expand eligibility requirements so more Floridians can protect their homes against storms and reduce premiums.
- House Bill 881 was reported favorable in the House Commerce Committee today.
House Bill 1343 - Agricultural Lands (Representative Tuck) – This bill increases the nonresidential farm building just value threshold for certain special assessment and authorizes construction or installation of housing for migrant farmworkers on certain lands.
- House Bill 1343 was reported favorable in the House Agriculture, Conservation & Resiliency Subcommittee today.
