CFO Jimmy Patronis Approves Development of Florida Veterans Dental Care Grant Program

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, during a meeting of the Florida Cabinet, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis voted to implement the Florida Veterans Dental Care Grant Program, an initiative to provide essential dental care services to eligible veterans in Florida. During the Cabinet Meeting, the Governor and Cabinet voted to approve the publication and final adoption of the rules related to the program and implementation of House Bill 635. The grant, which allocates $1 million in funding for dental programs specifically designed for veterans, emphasizes the importance of maintaining good oral health as a critical component of overall well-being. The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) reports that only 15% of veterans are eligible to access dental services through the VA.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, "Florida's veterans have bravely defended our freedom at home and abroad, and we must ensure they receive the care they deserve. The Florida Veterans Dental Care Grant program will alleviate financial burdens and enhance the quality of life for many veterans who struggle to access necessary dental services. Through grant programs like this, we can honor our commitment to those who have sacrificed so much for our country and ensure Florida remains the most veteran-friendly state in the nation.”
