CFO Blaise Ingoglia: Florida’s Month-Long Back-to-School Tax Holiday Begins August 1
~ Save Big All Month Long on School Supplies, Clothing, and More ~

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia is reminding Florida families to take full advantage of the 2025 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, which begins Friday, August 1, and runs through Sunday, August 31. Thanks to legislation supported by Governor Ron DeSantis, this annual tax holiday now runs the entire month of August and is a permanent part of Florida’s budget. The Back-to-School tax holiday provides Florida families with long-term savings during one of the most expensive times of the year.

CFO Blaise Ingoglia said, “The start of a new school year can stretch any family’s budget, and as your CFO, my top priority is ensuring that we are doing everything possible to save money for Floridians. This month-long tax holiday gives parents a meaningful opportunity to save money while making sure their kids are fully prepared. I’m proud that Florida is leading the way by offering permanent, practical tax relief that helps families, students, and our communities.”

During the tax holiday, Floridians can save on:

  • Clothing, footwear, wallets, bags, handbags, backpacks, fanny packs, and diaper bags with a sales price of $100 or less per item
  • Certain school supplies with a sales price of $50 or less per item
  • Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles with a sales price of $30 or less
  • Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1,500 or less, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use
