CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis Activates Emergency Insurance Village in Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Following Hurricane Michael’s devastation to areas in Florida, Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis will deploy an emergency insurance village in Tallahassee to assist residents with the insurance claims process. As of today, October 17, CFO Patronis’ Division of Consumer Services will be joined by American Integrity, Auto Owners, Avatar Insurance Company, Capitol Preferred Insurance Company, Citizens Property Insurance Corporation, Consumer Protection Coalition, Edison Insurance Company, Farmers/Foremost, FedNat Insurance Company, Florida Family Insurance Company, Florida Peninsular Insurance Company, GEICO, Monarch National Insurance Company, Nationwide Insurance, Southern Fidelity Property & Casualty, Southern Owners, Tower Hill Insurance, Travelers, Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Representatives from the National Flood Insurance Program will be on site to answer flood-related questions.
 
CFO Jimmy Patronis said,“It is my hope that people in the surrounding areas can use Tallahassee as hub to seek one on one insurance assistance. We can help you start the rebuilding process, we are in this together.”

When:             Thursday, October 18 & Friday, October 19
                      (WILL BE ADJUSTED AS NEEDED)    
                        8 a.m. to 4 p.m. EST
 
Where:            Heritage Plaza, 2810 Sharer Road, Tallahassee, FL 32312
 
Residents should bring as much documentation as they can including:

• A driver’s license or other form of identification. (Passport/State issued ID
• Insurance cards and insurance policy information/documentation
• Pictures or documentation of the property being claimed as a loss resulting from Hurricane Michael.
• Any additional insurance-related information that is readily accessible.
