CFO Jimmy Patronis’ Unclaimed Property Auction Comes to Tampa

AMPA, Fla. – Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis will host at media availability during the preview day of the 2018 Florida Unclaimed Property Auction on Friday, August 17, at the Marriott Westshore Hotel in Tampa, Florida. The auction comes on the heels of a recording-breaking year of returns for CFO Patronis’ Division of Unclaimed Property.

The 2018 Unclaimed Property Auction will be held on Saturday, August 18, at the Tampa Marriott Westhore Hotel beginning at 10 a.m. (registration opens at 8 a.m.). The auction is open to the public and will feature bidding on jewelry, watches, rare coins and more. Featured items include a platinum ring with three pear shaped diamonds totaling 4.60 karats with a reserve value of $12,500; stainless steel and gold men’s Rolex watch with a reserve value of $1,700; and five baseball cards including a graded Robinson Canó card, a graded Mickey Mantle card, Yogi Berra, Derek Jeter, and another Mickey Mantle card.
 
Items were turned over to the Division of Unclaimed Property after being recovered from abandoned safe deposit boxes. Despite years of exhaustive efforts to locate the owners, no rightful owner or entitled heir came forward to claim the boxes or the items contained within them. All proceeds from the sale of these items can be claimed at any time and at no cost should a property owner ever come forward.
