TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued the following statement on the Senate Appropriations Committee’s favorable hearing of Senate Bill 1874, Department of Financial Services, sponsored by Senator Boyd. Senate Bill 1874 will require insurance agencies to proactively disclose to policyholders that they’re closing their business; force public adjusters to notify consumers if they want to capture additional living expenses; and reduces workers’ comp penalties for small businesses. The bill moves next to the Senate Floor.
