CFO Patronis Statement on Protecting Florida's Seniors from Financial Abuse

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued the following statement on the unanimous passage of House Bill 813 by Senator Doug Broxson and Representative Lawrence McClure to protect vulnerable investors. The legislation, which now heads to Governor Ron DeSantis for signature, supports CFO Patronis’ Fraud Free Florida initiative by providing consumer protections for Floridians including allowing an investment adviser to delay a disbursement of funds or securities from the account of a vulnerable adult who is believed to be financially exploited.

I applaud the Florida Legislature today for standing up for Florida’s most vulnerable consumers and passing needed protections to stop financial exploitation of our seniors.
