**PHOTO RELEASE** CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis Announces Deployment of Fire Strike Teams to Louisiana to Aid in Emergency Response Following Hurricane Ida

9/6/2021
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis announced the deployment of two Fire Strike Teams consisting of 10 fire engines to assist in Louisiana following Hurricane Ida. The teams, consisting of more than 50 firefighters from Jacksonville, Crestview, South Walton, Pace, Niceville, Fort Walton, and Alachua Fire Departments, will support local Louisiana firefighters with emergency fire and paramedic services as communities work to recover from the storm.

CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “Yesterday, we deployed two Florida Fire Strike Teams to the Louisiana to aid local fire departments with emergency support following Hurricane Ida. With some critical emergency services compromised by this major Category 4 storm, our strike teams will help answer 911 calls and provide emergency medical and fire services. Also, as power is restored to these communities, it is vital that fire services are available to ensure safety. Florida is committed to support Louisiana as they support us during times of disaster. Thank you to these dedicated firefighters and come home safe.”
