TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis was joined by Florida's fire service professionals at the First Annual Fire Ops on the Hill at the Florida Capitol today. The event provided a live demonstration on how firefighters decontaminate their uniforms following a fire incident. The event also featured  fire extinguisher and CPR safety demonstrations.

 

CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “One of my top legislative priorities is the Firefighter Cancer Decontamination Equipment Grant Program which will provide these heroes with the important resources and equipment needed to help protect Florida's firefighters. Today's demonstration was a unique opportunity to see first-hand the life saving techniques used to protect our communities. We must do all we can to support our firefighters as they serve to protect us every day."
