TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis was joined by Attorney General Ashley Moody, Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried and the Florida Joint Council of Fire and Emergency Services to unveil and dedicate the new Firefighter Memorial Monument in the Capitol Courtyard today. The new monument honors Florida’s fallen firefighters who lost their lives in the line of duty.

 

CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “Today, we came together to honor Florida’s fallen firefighters—the brave men and women who laid their lives down in service as they protected our communities. The Firefighter Memorial Monument will serve as a reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. This lasting tribute will honor their lives and legacies; each name will stand here forever so generations of Floridians know of their selfless service and all they meant to their loved ones, their communities and our state.”
