TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis spoke at the Enterprise Florida, Inc.’s (EFI) March board meeting where he highlighted Florida’s resiliency and shared his 2021 legislative priorities.
 
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “I was honored to speak at the EFI board meeting this morning to board members and stakeholders. No doubt, 2020 was a very difficult year. Florida weathered it better than any other state and I truly believe that is due to the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis. While other states have locked down their businesses and stifled their economy, Florida has worked to safely remain open and it’s paid off. With the vaccine now being distributed to our seniors and vulnerable populations, it’s a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

“The last several months, I’ve been traveling the state on a liability protections tour. We must continue doing everything we can to get our economy up and running and I truly believe that COVID liability protections is the extra confidence our businesses and health care providers need. In addition to COVID liability protections, I’m also looking forward to fighting for vital consumer protections to curb rising insurance rates, supporting our firefighters and first responders, and ensuring we protect your personal data from falling into the wrong hands. We’ve already begun working on these initiatives, but we will need help from a coalition of stakeholders to ensure these measures make it to the finish line.
