TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis released the following statement and video message honoring those who have served in the Armed Forces on Veterans Day.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “This Veterans Day, we honor the heroic men and women who selflessly served to defend our country and democracy against evil and tyranny. It takes a special person with an undying love for their country to leave their families behind at a moment’s notice and lay their lives on the line for others. Florida is home to more than 1.5 million amazing veterans, many of whom have chosen to continue to serve their communities as first responders. In fact, Florida is the third-largest veteran populated state in the nation and our state’s veterans bring more than $18.4 billion federal dollars annually into Florida’s economy.

“When I served in the Florida House and now as your CFO, I have focused on making Florida the most veteran-friendly state in the nation and will continue to ensure these heroes have the tools and resources they need to build a strong financial future. As you celebrate this Veterans Day, please take a moment to thank a veteran or active duty service member for their courage and the sacrifices they’ve made to give us the freedom we enjoy today. Thank you and God bless Florida’s Veterans.”
