The Department of Financial Services’ Be Scam Smart Video Series is designed to help inform, empower, and protect Florida’s seniors from financial fraud and scams. What is Operation SAFE?
Operation S.A.F.E., Stop Adult Financial Exploitation, is an initiative provided by the Florida Department of Financial Services designed to protect Florida’s seniors from financial fraud and scams through education.
Why is it needed?
Scam artists are aware of the high number of seniors in Florida and look to take advantage of them financially. With more than 5.5 million residents age 60 and older, Florida outnumbers the state senior populations of 20 other states combined.
We aim to protect seniors from becoming a victim of financial exploitation through these educational resources.
