The Office of Fiscal Integrity’s (OFI) mission is to detect and investigate the misappropriation or misuse of state assets to safeguard the State of Florida and its taxpayers. When tax payer funds are misused, it’s not only illegal but it hurts the state’s ability to provide services taxpayers pay for and need.

OFI works to ensure the proper use of taxpayer funds by investigating allegations of:

• State contract and grant fraud
• Unclaimed Property fraud
• Theft of state property
• Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) fraud
• State travel reimbursement, credit card and payroll fraud
• Fraud through counterfeit warrants and fraudulent debits to state treasury accounts

State employees, contracted employees and vendors are entrusted to use state tax payer funds for the good of Floridians. Reporting theft and fraud ensures Floridians receive the most from their tax dollars and help them have confidence in their state government. In addition, if you see fraud, reporting it also helps you because it will prove to yourself that you’re willing to stand up for what is right.
