Board of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services

The Board of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services is created within the Department of Financial Services and consists of 10 members, 9 of whom are appointed by the Governor from nominations made by the Chief Financial Officer and confirmed by the Senate. The remaining member of the Board is the State Health Officer or his/her designee.  The headquarters and records of the Board are located in the Department’s Division of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services in Tallahassee.  The Board may be contacted through the Division.  The Board meets monthly; all meetings of the Board are open to the public.  For more information, please refer to section 497.101, Florida Statutes.

Notice of Board Meeting Changes Due to Hurricane Ian

Due to widespread power outages and other issues resulting from Hurricane Ian, the videoconference for the Board of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services previously scheduled for October 6, 2022 has been rescheduled to Monday, October 17,  2022, at 10:00 a.m.   The public may participate in this conference by either video using the following link: https://meet.goto.com/LaTonyaBryant/board-videoconference-october; or by teleconference by calling (669) 224-3412, Access Code: 578-214-069. Further, the in-person meeting which was scheduled for Orlando on November 3rd will be changed to a videoconference meeting. Continuing Education Credit Available for Video Conferences

We are excited to announce that we have developed a process for our licensees to obtain CEU credits for attending our Video Conferences. In order to receive credit, licensees must provide their name, license number, meeting date, email address and the phone number you connected to the meeting with. This is very important, as the phone number (or email address if you connected via the web) will be used to confirm your attendance and the length of time you were on the call. Please email ALL of the requested information to LaTonya.Bryant@myfloridacfo.com.

All Meetings will start at 10:00 AM (Eastern time) unless noted otherwise.

General subject matter to be considered during Public Meetings: applications for license; disciplinary actions; applications for approval of change in ownership or control of existing licenses; reports by staff; approval of minutes of prior meetings. The agenda for each meeting will be available at least 7 days before the meeting, and may be obtained by contacting LaTonya Bryant, at 850-413-3039.

Any changes to the above referenced meeting schedule will be published at least 10 days before the affected meeting, on our News Page.
