Today, I would like to encourage all Floridians to search now and check to see if you have Unclaimed Property just waiting to be claimed. With inflation at a 40 year high, claiming unclaimed property is a great way for people to get their hands on more cash to pay for those necessities that are becoming more expensive every day. Our office returned more than $20 million to the pockets of Floridians in June alone and there’s still more than $2 billion left to be claimed. Search now at FLTreasureHunt.gov.

This week, I’m also excited to highlight interesting items from our Unclaimed Property Vault. This week's item “From the Vault” is an 1685 Edition of William Shakespeare’s 4 ^th Folio. Every week, the Florida Unclaimed Property Team will be highlighting items like this, that were lost or abandoned, and will be coming up for auction soon. Lastly, the 2022 Back-to-School Tax Holiday begins on Monday and this is another great opportunity for Florida families to save some money headed into the new school year. I highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this tax holiday, and stock up on new school clothes and supplies. As a father of two, I know how expensive getting ready for the school year can be, and this is a great way for families to keep a little extra money in their pockets and ensure their children have all of the supplies they need to succeed in the classroom.
