The 2024 Hurricane Season starts tomorrow, June 1st, and I’m urging all Floridians to take advantage of the calm before the storm and prepare now! I’m highlighting important hurricane financial preparedness tips and resources and encouraging you and your loved ones to take advantage of the Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday starting June 1st - June 14th. There is nothing more important than having a disaster plan in place to protect you, your family, your home, and your business.

The Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday is the perfect time to save money and stock up on essential tax-free hurricane supplies such as batteries, flashlights, gas tanks, and much more. Business owners should also work now to prepare to weather and recover from what is expected to be another busy storm season. On Tuesday, I hosted a "Fixing Problems for Floridians" Fair in West Palm Beach where different experts of the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) were able to assist Floridians with their issues and educate consumers on a wide variety of resources available to them. One of my favorite parts of being CFO, is connecting Floridians with the resources and services they need to fix their problems. Big thank you to all who joined us for the Fair, and who helped make the event such a big success.
