This week, I announced that my Unclaimed Property team returned more than $39 million back to the pockets of Floridians during the month of August. I implore all of you to take the opportunity now to search for extra cash to pay for some of those additional school supplies your kids might need this year. You can also search for yourself, your loved ones, and even your business at FLTreasureHunt.gov. It's estimated that one in five Floridians has unclaimed property just waiting to be claimed, with an average claim of $825. Don't delay - start your treasure hunt today! 

On Thursday, I announced the arrest of three individuals who were charged with intentionally defrauding United Auto Insurance Company to allegedly exploit the personal injury and protection (PIP) benefits associated with the auto policies for financial gain. It's amazing the length that fraudsters will go simply to make a quick buck all while effecting Floridians. This is exactly the type of fraud that drives up car insurance rates for every Floridian on the roadways. As your CFO, I have made it one of my top priorities to fight fraud in Florida by putting policyholders first and ensuring that fraudsters find their way behind bars.
