PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis gave remarks at the grand opening of the new Cheney Brothers location in Port St. Lucie. Cheney Brothers is one of the fastest growing food distribution companies in the United States. The new facility in Port St. Lucie has created 260 new jobs.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “As your CFO, I’m proud to say that Florida’s economy is stronger than it’s ever, while reaching record levels of job creation and budget reserves. Businesses are looking to grow in Florida because of our low taxes, great infrastructure, educated workforce, and amazing quality of life. As a former restaurant owner myself, I know how important it is to support businesses and job creators in our state. This new distribution center has already created 260 jobs for Port St. Lucie residents, and they are expecting to create over 500 jobs by next year. This is great news for the local economy.
