CFO Jimmy Patronis: Florida is the Boating Capital of the World
~ Highlights economic impact of the Palm Beach International Boat Show ~  

West Palm Beach, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis released a proclamation in honor of the Palm Beach International Boat show and the impressive economic impacts the show has on Florida’s economy.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, "Florida has long been considered by many to be the ‘Boating Capital of the World’ and the Palm Beach International Boat Show is a shining example of that great accomplishment. The PBI Boat Show is one of the best in the world and contributes an estimated $1.05 billion in economic impact statewide and brings in more than 55,00 visitors a year. The show is also an enormous job creator, supporting more than 6,000 jobs statewide. Thank you to the team at the PBI Boat Show for all of their hard work in making this amazing event a success every year.”

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, the Palm Beach International Boat Show is known as one of the top boat shows in the United States; and  

WHEREAS, the Palm Beach International Boat Show has been an annual event each spring since 1982; and

WHEREAS, the Palm Beach International Boat Show has grown to have an exceptional economic impact to the Palm Beach community and the tri-county area; and

WHEREAS, the Palm Beach International Boat Show will be displaying over $1.2 billion worth of yachts and accessories, including hundreds of boats ranging from inflatables to superyachts; and

WHEREAS, the Palm Beach International Boat Show is owned by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach and is produced by Informa Markets; and

WHEREAS, the State of Florida has solidified itself as the “Boating Capital of the World” with over 1 million registered water recreational vessels; and

WHEREAS, the State of Florida has 2,276 statute miles of Tidal Shoreline, 1,350 statute miles of Coastline, 663 miles of beaches, and more than 7,700 lakes to enjoy water recreation.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief Financial Officer of the State of Florida recognizes the

PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

located in West Palm Beach on March 23 – 26, 2023, for their contribution to make Florida a better place to live, work, and play.
