CFO Patronis Applauds Banning of TikTok from Florida K-12 Schools
MIAMI, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis applauded Governor Ron DeSantis for signing House Bill 379, which prohibits the access of certain social media applications, such as TikTok on public school devices for K-12 classrooms. This year, the CFO advocated for a ban on TikTok from Florida’s K-12 schools and Universities.
CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “TikTok is nothing more than digital fentanyl and has no place in Florida’s schools. It rots our children’s brains and distracts them from learning. It also poses a major security risk to Floridians and our educational institutions. Huge thanks to Governor DeSantis for signing this important legislation into law. He’s done an incredible job protecting our children and pushing back against the Chinese Communist Party.”
