CFO Jimmy Patronis Issues Proclamation Honoring ACC Coach of the Year Mike Norvell

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a proclamation honoring Mike Norvell on his undefeated regular season and being awarded the ACC Coach of the Year.

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Head Football Coach Mike Norvell has led the Florida State University Seminoles to an undefeated 12-0 record, including an 8-0 record in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play, producing the University’s seventh unbeaten regular season in program history; and

WHEREAS, the Florida State Seminoles are the top seed for the ACC Championship Game, playing the 10-2 Louisville Cardinals, and competing for Florida State’s sixteenth ACC title; and

WHEREAS, Coach Norvell’s Seminoles have seven wins this season over bowl-eligible Power 5 conference teams, tied for the most in the country by any team, including wins over LSU, Clemson University, University of Miami, and Duke University; and

WHEREAS, Coach Norvell’s team had a program setting record of 25 selections on the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team, including eight first-team selections, the most by any team; and

WHEREAS, the Seminole’s offense leads the ACC in scoring (ranking 10^th nationally with an average of 38.8 points per game) fewest interceptions thrown, rushing touchdowns, passing efficiency, yards per completion, red zone offense, PATs made, and field goal percentage; and

WHEREAS, the Florida State defense leads the ACC in scoring defense (allowing only 16.8 points per game, ranking 11^th nationally), is fifth in the nation in 3^rd-down efficiency, seventh in the nation in sacks per game, and fifth in the nation in turnover margin per game; and

WHEREAS, the Florida State Seminoles are on an 18-game winning streak, dating back to October 2022, outscoring opponents by a margin of 718-310, which is the longest active streak in the ACC and the third-longest active streak in the nation; and

WHEREAS, Coach Norvell is Florida State’s first ACC Coach of the Year since 1997, joining FSU and College Football Hall of Fame coach Bobby Bowden, who was awarded in 1993 and 1997, as the only two Florida State Head Coaches to be voted as Conference Coach of the Year.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal of the State of Florida does hereby congratulate and recognize
