CFO Jimmy Patronis Appoints Tom Gallagher to Florida Insurance Guaranty Association Board of Directors
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis announced the appointment of Tom Gallagher to the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association (FIGA) Board of Directors. FIGA is a nonprofit corporation created by the Florida Legislature in 1970 and services pending claims by Florida policyholders of member insurance companies that become insolvent and are ordered liquidated.

Gallagher previously served the State of Florida as the first Chief Financial Officer, a state legislator, and as Insurance Commissioner. He’s also served as state Education Commissioner and Secretary of the then-Department of Professional Regulation. Gallagher helped found an Insurance Agency in 2008, and was a Government Affairs Consultant for Colodny Fass for five years. Since 2017, he’s served as Chief Operating Officer of People’s Trust Insurance.
