CFO Jimmy Patronis Appoints Randall Jenkins to NICA Board of Directors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis announced the appointment of Randall Jenkins to the Florida Birth-Related Neurological Injury Compensation Association (NICA) Board of Directors. NICA is a statutory organization that manages state funds used to pay for the care of children and adults born with certain neurological injuries. NICA’s mission is to get birth-injured children and adults the care they need while reducing the financial burden on medical providers and families.

Randall Jenkins, Jacksonville

Jenkins is the Chief Executive Officer for the Florida Board of Governors owned Healthcare Education Insurance Company (HEIC), where he plans, directs and administers all aspects of the Florida academic health self-insurance liability programs (SIP) for five of the state’s six university health systems, as appointed by each university professional liability company board. HEIC collectively protects more than 14,000 Florida healthcare professionals and is consistently one of the top 10 largest professional liability entities serving the state of Florida. Jenkins also served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the University of Florida Health (UF Health), a network of 12 hospitals and hundreds of physician practices and outpatient locations in Gainesville, Jacksonville and Central Florida.
