Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia Highlights 1 Year of Fighting Fraud and Supporting Law Enforcement

MIAMI - Today, Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia highlighted 1 year of fighting fraud and supporting law enforcement. Since taking office last year, CFO Ingoglia and the Department of Financial Services Criminal Investigations Division (CID) have cracked down on fraudulent schemes and made more than 1,200 arrests. 

Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, "Every arrest we make is another promise kept. I will not let fraudsters get away with their schemes in Florida. I applaud the work of my investigators for their success in making more than 1,200 arrests the last year. I am proud of the work we have done to enhance our support and cooperation with our local law enforcement partners to put more bad guys behind bars. Our work will continue and will keep our foot on the gas and let every fraudster know, we are coming for you.”  

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said, “Florida has been the most pro-law enforcement state in the country because of leaders such as CFO Ingoglia that recognize the sacrifice and bravery of our deputies and put public safety at the forefront of their work. Thank you for working with us to help bring criminals to justice and protect citizens in Polk County.”

Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said, “Our deputies answer the call every day to help others. When our state leaders stand alongside us, we can strengthen our commitment to public safety. I want to thank CFO Ingoglia for helping us keep our community safe.”

Putnam County Sheriff Homer “Gator” DeLoach said, “Thank you, CFO Ingoglia, for always having our backs and making public safety a top priority. As you continue to serve our great state, we look forward to continuing our partnership with you as we protect our residents.”

CID investigators have arrested 1,219 criminals, totaling $38 million in restitution. Additionally, the Bureau of Public Assistance Fraud referred 322 public assistance fraud cases totaling $8 million for criminal prosecution. The Bureau of Insurance Fraud has arrested 634 individuals over the last year, and the Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives has made 344 arrests. The CFO is committed to enhancing public safety and keeping Florida the best state in the nation to live.
