10/15/2025TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Blaise Ingoglia announced that more than $58 million in unclaimed property was returned to Floridians during the month of September, setting a new record for the amount of unclaimed property returned in a single month. Unclaimed property is a financial asset that is unknown, lost, left inactive, unclaimed, or abandoned by its owner. The most common types of unclaimed property are dormant bank accounts, unclaimed insurance proceeds, stocks, dividends, uncashed checks, deposits, credit balances, and refunds. Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia Announces Arrest of Criminal Alien in Insurance Fraud Case
10/13/2025TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia and the Department of Financial Services' Criminal Investigations Division (CID) announced the arrest of a criminal illegal alien, Jose Arias-Reyes, from Miami-Dade County, for insurance fraud. Arias-Reyes has two prior removals from the United States with two illegal re-entries. He also has two convictions for domestic assault and DUI in the United States and will be facing multiple state and federal charges as a criminal alien. This arrest was made with the assistance of Homeland Security Investigations. -

9/19/2025During a seven-day-long undercover human trafficking operation, which began on September 8, 2025, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 230 suspects involved in illegal acts related to soliciting prostitutes, offering to commit prostitution, or aiding/abetting or transporting prostitutes; at the same time, detectives worked with partnering agencies to arrest child sexual predators and charged an additional 16 suspects who traveled to an undercover location to have sex with who they thought were children or solicited children online. -
