Watch Out for Fraudsters Posing as IRS
On Thursday, I issued a Consumer Alert warning all Floridians to beware of a Tax Refund Scam that is being reported by the IRS. The scam comes in the form of fraudsters gaining access to the victims personal information by sending them a letter claiming that they are owed a rebate. The last chance to claim a refund from the IRS on your 2019 tax returns is fast approaching, and these bad actors are using this to their advantage to dupe you into a scam. If you ever receive a letter from the IRS, make sure that you are checking and double checking its validity before you potentially give over your sensitive information to a fraudster. If you or someone you know is suspicious of fraudulent activity, report it immediately at FraudFreeFlorida.com.

On Wednesday, I was happy to announce more than $31 million in unclaimed property was returned to the of pockets Florida families and businesses during the month of June. I am so proud to be able to highlight the great work my team has done to return ever cent of unclaimed property back to its rightful owner. Florida currently has unclaimed property accounts with a total value of nearly $2.7 billion. I am encouraging every Floridian to search now for unclaimed property for yourself, your friends, your loved ones, and even your business at FLTreasureHunt.gov.
Sincerely,
