CFO Patronis Issues Statement Honoring the Life of Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis issued a statement honoring and memorializing the life of former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor who passed away at the age 93. Sandra Day O’Connor was nominated by former President Ronald Reagan on August 19, 1981, and served until her retirement on January 31, 2006. Justice O’Connor made history as the first woman appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court.

CFO Jimmy Patronis said, “My heart goes out to the family of former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor. Justice O’Connor was a groundbreaking public servant and a stalwart of her time. I was honored to hear her speak to the Florida Legislature in 2009. President Reagan knew she would blaze her own trail and make the difficult decisions to help lead our country forward. She will be missed.”
