Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Blaise Ingoglia Shares Hurricane Isaias Preparedness Efforts from the Florida Department of Financial Services

10/9/2026
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.- Today, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Blaise Ingoglia shared Hurricane Isaias preparedness efforts from the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS). CFO Ingoglia joined Governor Ron DeSantis at the State Emergency Operations Center to provide updates on the storm and ongoing emergency response efforts to protect residents impacted by Hurricane Isaias.

Chief Financial Officer Blaise Ingoglia said, “With Hurricane Isaias making landfall in the Florida Panhandle tonight, now is the time to hunker down, stay indoors, and follow the alerts sent out by local, state, and emergency response officials. Floridians are no stranger to severe weather, however our priority is to protect Floridians and ensure that the impacted communities have the resources and assistance they need as they begin the recovery process. Stay safe, remain vigilant, and do not let your guard down until the storm has passed.”

As State Fire Marshal, CFO Ingoglia coordinates Florida’s Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Task Forces during an emergency activation. The team, made up of more than 475 members, stands ready to deploy when Hurricane Isaias passes through to rescue those in danger and provide life-saving assistance. Additionally, the US&R team is accompanied by the Orange County Swift Water and Rescue team which serves to help victims that have been impacted from severe weather such as hurricanes.

The DFS Criminal Investigations Division (CID) will also work alongside local and state law enforcement partners as they conduct search and rescue operations. Currently, there are two CID protection teams accompanying US&R to assist with post-storm recovery. In addition, CID officers will continue to arrest fraudsters seeking to exploit vulnerable Floridians in the aftermath of the storm. CID encourages anyone with knowledge of fraud to report it at  FraudFreeFlorida.com | Florida Department of Financial Services.

The DFS Division of Consumer Services has reached out to 60 insurance companies to set up insurance assistance hubs quickly after the storm. If your home, condo, or car has been damaged by Hurricane Isias, call 1-877-MY-FL-CFO (1-877-693-5236) to speak with an insurance expert about post-storm claims.
