CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis Honors Bay County Emergency Management Division Chief Joby Smith
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis recognized members of Florida’s firefighting community for their outstanding accomplishments in the fire service industry during the 2019 Fire Service Awards at the Florida Capitol. Each individual or facility was nominated and selected by various fire service organizations across Florida.
During the ceremony, Bay County Emergency Management Division Chief Joby Smith was presented the Chad Reed Emergency Preparedness Manager Award for his outstanding response during Hurricane Michael and his leadership in recovery from the devastating storm.
CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “I was proud to honor Bay County’s Emergency Management Division Chief Joby Smith at our award ceremony last night. As we saw before, during and after Hurricane Michael, he skillfully manages difficult situations with artful diplomacy and an attitude of graciousness. I am grateful Joby is a public servant in my hometown.”
