Update on Identifying State Vendors Owned by the Chinese-State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS) provided an update on Florida Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis’s request of state vendors to self identify whether they are majority-owned by the Communist Party of China. The CFO made the announcement at the May 28, 2020 meeting of the Florida Cabinet. The press release is available here.

The Department issued the letter to approximately 100,000 vendors who are registered to do business with State of Florida and are setup to receive taxpayer money. To date, the Department has received more than 3,700 responses and a number of questions related to the vendor letter. To better facilitate responses, the Department has created an informational webpage located at www.myfloridacfo.com/VendorSurvey/default.htm.
